FUN FILLED EXCURSION TO MANALI’

Rabindranath Tagore rightly said that ‘The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence’ So to provide a wide range of  such opportunities to young Ahlconites and help them in their holistic development a trip for 68 students and 8 teachers of Ahlcon International School to Kulu Manali was organized during the summer break.
With their heart brimming with joy and excitement, the Ahlconites set off on an enchanting journey of fun, challenge and entertainment in the lap of majestic mountains. They explored and thoroughly enjoyed the mesmerizing sights of blissful dance of river’ Beas’, mountains, clouds and waterfalls . The trip fostered a sense of team work and increased children’s knowledge and understanding of the world in which they live. In Manali the real adventure began when the students could enjoy river crossing with the help of ropes. Next morning they reached Solang valley and did paragliding, zorbing and gliding across the sky like birds. Neither the weariness of the traffic jams which they had to face time to time nor the chilling winds of hill station could diminish the spirits of this enthusiastic group. They visited the Vashisht bath and observed warm sulphur springs there. Students were also taken to Roerich art gallery and the famous Naggar Castle. Students felt happy being so close to Mother Nature. The bright multi-coloured flowers, the clouds sailing across the sky and the snow-covered peaks of the high mountains in the distance filled their heart with joy.
They returned to Delhi with the memory of the visit still fresh in their minds. The trip was an unforgettable experience combining pleasure, fun, learning, entertainment, self-expression, creativity and history

AHLCONITES AT NASA

Ahlcon international School following its vision of ‘Global Prospective Indian Values’ organized a visit of eighteen students and two teachers to NASA during summer break. This programme was organized in collaboration with International Space School Educational Trust, ISSET, a UK based educational organization.

Students reached Orlando on 18th May and visited Kennedy Space Center. The first activity the students were made to do was Robotics followed by  a visit to exhibition hall  where children could see  the models of rockets ,space suits and shuttles etc.  They boarded NASA coach which took them for a tour to show different space shuttles which were launched and then they watched two movies in IMAX Theater. The movies were based on the astronauts and their preparation before going to Space. They had formal lunch and dinner with the astronauts Barbara Morgan and Scott Vangen. They also got golden opportunity to meet other astronauts like Tony and Jay Honeycutt, former president of KSC. Meeting these astronauts was just like dream come true. Students took their autographs and clicked many photographs with them. Astronauts were kind enough to answer all the queries of the curious students.

They visited The Disney Park (Magic Kingdom), Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Disney Parade at The Disney Park was specifically enjoyed at night. Next day they saw the magnificent beauty of Niagara Fall, which was ultimate indeed. In New York they visited the huge National History Museum, the biggest apple store, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, National monument and The Brooklyn Bridge. Students were astonished to see the huge skyscrapers in New York.

They all had an awesome and amazing trip. It was a life time experience for all them which they are going to cherish forever.   This trip was a perfect combination of education plus entertainment means ‘EDUTAINMENT’.
